First-year head coach Rylee Adamson feels that the Mission Volleyball program is poised for a strong run behind one of the most experienced rosters in recent years.

“We are super excited for this season,” Adamson said. “We have very high expectations for our Mission Lady Bulldogs this year. We expect a very competitive season.”

That optimism comes from the team’s impressive turnout.

“We are lucky to have eight seniors and seven juniors, giving us a lot of talented athletes to choose from,” Adamson said. “As coaches, our job has been difficult this year because of all the great talent and only a limited number of spaces on the court. That is also one of our strengths; having so many assets allows us to be flexible with our rotations, as many of our girls can play several different positions.”

Even with Superior moving back to Class C, Adamson expects plenty of tough competition.

“We have a small district this year with Superior going back to Class C, but we will still see strong competitors in both our district and division,” she said.

The Bulldogs boast both size and skill.

“We are fortunate to have a tall lineup with our seniors Alecia Steele, Cora Matt, Maia Christopher, and junior Kieran Incashola,” Adamson said. “We have our returning setter Jada Domebo. Plus two new standouts, Brooklyn McClure and Sheadon Kain.”

For Adamson, stepping into her first season at the helm is made easier by the wealth of talent across the program.

“As a new coach, I am very lucky to have so much talent to work with, including all our underclassmen as well,” she said.

The combination of veteran leadership, versatile rotations, and promising newcomers gives Mission plenty of reason to believe this season could be special.

“We have such a talented group of girls,” Adamson said, “and our season should reflect that.”
