100 degrees again in Coeur d'Alene

COEUR d'ALENE — Temperatures hit triple digits in Coeur d'Alene for the third straight day Wednesday.
"Three 100-degree days to start the month of September is unprecedented," said Climatologist Cliff Harris, noting there was not a single 100-degree day in July or August.
Tuesday's record of 103 degrees was followed by another record of 100 degrees for Sept. 3, breaking the previous high of 98 degrees set in 1938. It also reached 100 degrees Monday.
Harris said the heat was even more pronounced due to a lack of wind.
"We're just wilting here without a breeze," he said.
Temperatures are expected to hover around 90 degrees for the next few days before cooling off into the 70s next week.
According to the U.S. Forest Service, fire danger remains high in the area. Harris said there is a chance of scattered showers Tuesday.
"Nothing to write home about, but we'll take anything," he said.
According to the National Weather Service, much of North Idaho and Eastern Washington remains under a heat advisory until tonight.
