BUTTE — The Flathead Bravettes flag football team is 2-0, having vanquished foes Butte High and Missoula Big Sky in a pair of games played in the Mining City Wednesday.
The Bravettes beat Butte 36-6 and then put away Missoula Big Sky 24-12.
Mixed in were two junior varsity games, so everyone saw action.
“We had a lot of girls that swing up from JV too,” Flathead coach Jess Hensley said. “It was hot. Everybody played and everybody contributed.
Stats on the individual games were not available, but Hensley noted that quarterback Julia Kay was among those that had a big day, with five touchdown passes total.
“She just makes really good decisions,” Hensley said. “She knows when to pull the ball down and keeps her eyes downfield. I keep being impressed at their execution.”
Hannah Cantrell caught two of those touchdown passes.
“She’s such a good route runner, and excellent on defense, and she never gets tired,” Hensley said.
Gracie Kilmer had a rushing touchdown for Flathead, while Makenna Korf caught two scoring passes. JC Tillman figured into the action with a touchdown catch and strong cornerback play.
Flathead’s next action is Thursday, in the first of two Crosstown games with Glacier. Action starts at 6 p.m. at Legends Stadium.
