C-Falls, Whitefish soccer split Cat-Dog matches

COLUMBIA FALLS — The Cat-Dog soccer matches ended in a split, with the Whitefish boys prevailing 2-0 and the Columbia Falls girls winning 3-1.
Taylor Rodgers had a goal and an assist for the Wildkats, who led 1-0 at the half.
Wildkats 3, Bulldogs 1
After Whitefish tied the game at 1-1 on a goal from Hayley Reardon, Onnika Lawrence assisted on the Kats’ go-ahead and clinching goals, which were four minutes apart.
Rodgers broke the 1-1 tie in the 68 th minute; Evie Dorr scored soon after.
“Super proud of the girls for fighting, remaining composed and getting a result,” Wildkats’ coach Thomas Clark said. “They showed their experience tonight and weathered the storm. Our leaders stepped up all over the field tonight.
“Our wingbacks created a lot of opportunities today. Taylor Rodgers specifically showed up big time, drawing a penalty in the first half and scoring the go ahead goal in the second half.”
Columbia Falls outshot the Bulldogs 14-6.
“I do have to give a lot of credit to Whitefish,” Clark said. “They are a young team and they battled all game. They are going to cause a lot of problems for teams.”

Graysen Rembaugh scored off a Kyler Jonson feed in the 31 st minute, then Jonson added a goal of his own early in the second half of this one.
The Bulldog boys outshot Columbia Falls 13-8 in a hotly contested match that saw five yellow cards, four on Whitefish.
“All we asked of the boys before the game was to come out and compete and have a great performance,” Columbia Falls coach O’Brien Byrd said. “Despite the loss, we can hold our heads high. We saw so many great performances out there from an almost entirely new team.
“Congrats to Whitefish. They had our number tonight.”
