Clash of the Carvers comes to Libby

The annual Clash of the Carvers International Chainsaw Carving Competition is underway in Libby.

Carving began Thursday and resumed Friday at 8 a.m.

Here’s the schedule:

Friday and Saturday

8 a.m. - carving begins

10:15 a.m. - Break

10:30 a.m. - quick carve 2

Noon - lunch break

1 p.m. - carving resumes

2 p.m. - Quick Carve #1 Auction

6 p.m. - carving ends

Sunday

8 a.m. - carving begins

10:15 a.m. - break

10:30 a.m. - quick carve 2

Noon - lunch break

1 p.m. - final auction begins and championship awards begin after the auction.

Here are the carvers who will be competing for thousands of dollars in prizes:

Marina Cole, Ryan Villiers, Brigitte Lochhead, Dennis Beach, Zoe Dussia, Mark Colp, Denny Henson, Emil Szkipala, Taylor White, Alex Pricob, Sam Bowsher, Steven Higgins, Bongo Love, Adrian Bois, George Dorjsuren, Lisa Doeren, Micky Grayum, Rachel Mirth, Jenna Whiting, Bruce Thorthinstein and Robby Bast.

Beach was the People’s Choice winner in 2024 and he also claimed first place. Higgins was the quick carve winner and Cole was the carver’s choice winner. Dussia took third while White was fourth and Colp was fifth.

The Loggin’ Littles Carnival will also be held. It will include a soap carving workshop, kid-safe axe throwing, splash pad, face painting as well as food and drinks.
