Kari Lynn Gage, 61, of Sagle, Idaho, passed away on August 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born and raised with a deep appreciation for animals, Kari’s life was filled with compassion and care. She had a lifelong passion for horses and was an active supporter of 4-H, inspiring countless young people with her dedication and love for the program. Kari also poured her heart into running a daycare, where she created a nurturing environment for many children over the years. Above all else, Kari treasured her family, who were the center of her world.
Kari was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Katie Gage; her parents, Stub and Esther Verwolf; and her brothers, Jimmy Verwolf and Steve Verwolf.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Gage; her daughters, Dani (Toby) Shaffer, Jackie (Nick) Mazariegos, Abbie (Gale) Belgarde, and Randi (Garret) Belgarde; 12 grandchildren; as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 7, at 1 p.m. at the Sandpoint Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2235 Pine Street, Sandpoint, Idaho 83864. A reception will follow at the Gage family home, lovingly known as “the Gage Compound,” located at 395 Duffy Lane, Sagle, Idaho 83860.
Kari’s kindness, strength, and love for life will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
