NIC VOLLEYBALL: Cardinal take two in home invite

COEUR d’ALENE — Sidney Streiff had 10 kills and Allie Ferrin added 11 kills for North Idaho College in a 25-23, 25-12, 29-27 win over Yakima Valley in the first match of the NIC Invitational at Christianson Gymnasium on Friday. 

Later, NIC swept Columbia Basin 25-19, 25-23, 25-22 to improve to 5-5 on the season. 

Against the Hawks of Pasco, Wash., Ferrin had 12 kills, Jordyn Williams eight kills and Cynthia Reyes Valencia five blocks for the Cardinals. 

NIC concludes the tournament today against Highline of Des Moines, Wash., at 9 a.m., followed by a match with College of the Rockies of Cranbrook, British Columbia at 4:30 p.m.
