SPIRIT LAKE — Senior Jayda Storro racked up a team-high 28 assists, a team-high four aces and chipped in 11 kills as the Lady Spartans bested the Lady Tigers in five sets (19-25, 25-16, 27-25, 26-28, 15-12) for their fourth win in five games in a non-league match held Saturday afternoon at Timberlake High.

It was Storro's fifth straight 20-plus assist game in as many matches for Priest River, which erased an 8-point deficit in the fourth before falling just shy in the set. The Lady Spartans then started off the fifth set on a 5-0 run on their way to the victory.

Offensively, junior Raygn Turner matched her season high with a team-high 17 kills while sophomore McKinley Burgess-Duquette contributed nine kills, senior Aleigha Jensen seven kills in the winning effort.

On defense, Turner and senior Toni Marinello added 15 digs apiece. Jensen, Storro, senior Kenadie Kingery and freshman Hadley Sandau all had one block each.

Priest River High head coach Katlyn Ward said her Lady Spartans haven't faced a team whose primary strength was blocking, noting that the Lady Tigers' front served as a fun challenge for her front and back row. 

Priest River (4-1) will be back in action Tuesday for a home non-league game against Riverside High of Chattaroy.
