Spirit Lake Police Department patrol vehicles up for auction

The Spirit Lake Police Department is offloading three used patrol vehicles in an online auction open to the public.
The department is intending to replace the vehicles with the money made from the auction, a spokesperson for the department said. The cost for new patrol vehicles typically ranges between $20,000 to $45,000.
Vehicles up for auction include a 2014 Dodge Durango SXT with 111,018 miles, a 2014 Ford Taurus with 112,658 miles, and a 2010 Dodge Charger with 138,042 miles on the speedometer, though the engine has been replaced and has a lower mileage.
The estimated value of the Durango ranges from $7,722 to 10,465. The value of the Taurus is estimated at $5,443-7,168, and the Charger's value is estimated at $3,560-6,353, according to SLPD.
The auction runs through Sept. 11, and is being conducted through Municibid.
