MaryLou Duncan, a beloved member of the Priest Lake, Idaho, community, passed away peacefully Aug. 30, 2025, at the age of 94.

Born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on July 14, 1931, MaryLou lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service to those around her and her community.

MaryLou's life was marked by her commitment to her family and community. She was the cherished wife of the late Karl Duncan, with whom she shared a beautiful life. Together, they built a family that became the center of her world. 

She is survived by her loving children: Marcia Warren, Melia Barr, Thomas Duncan, and Kathy Kemink. Her daughter, Susan Turner; and her parents, Kathryn Stobie and Curtland Kimball; predeceased her, leaving behind cherished memories of their time together.

Her career spanned various roles, including a dedicated bus driver for the Bonner County School District and a skilled cook at Hills Resort. MaryLou's culinary talents extended to serving as a cook for forest service wildfires, where her hearty meals provided comfort and strength to many. Her community involvement was extensive, as she actively participated in local events, such as snowmobile races, school carnivals, fundraisers, and dog sled races. MaryLou's strong will and passion for Priest Lake's history made her a respected and admired figure in the community.

Though no formal service will be held per her wishes, MaryLou's legacy will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to the Priest Lake EMTs, reflecting MaryLou's enduring spirit of giving and care for others.

MaryLou Duncan's life was a testament to resilience, love, and a deep connection to her roots. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
