PULLMAN, Wash. — Junior Bode Eacret carded a career-best 1-under-par 70 for the boys, freshman Hannah Majors shot a career-best 93 for the girls and the Bulldogs finished tied for fourth and seventh, respectively, at the Lewiston Invitational held Thursday at Quail Ridge Golf Course.

Eacret placed tied for third out of 34 golfers and was one of just four players under par for the Sandpoint boys, which tallied a team score of 328. Senior Micah Young, after shooting an even par across his last 10 holes, made his way back into the 70s with an 8-over-par 79. Miller Ely finished with a score of 89, Tyler Weisz a 90 to round out the day's scorers.

"Micah had one bad hole, but other than that, he really righted the ship — I felt like he got back into his game and found his mojo again today," Sandpoint High head coach Mike Deprez said. "Miller and Tyler are getting more comfortable in competition. They both felt they played a lot worse than they actually did, which is always a good sign."

Majors' 93 put her in tied for eighth out of 35 golfers for the Sandpoint girls, which recorded a team score of 425.

"Very happy with Hannah's performance," Deprez said of Majors, who recently made some swing adjustments. "Today we saw a return on investment. Once she gets more and more comfortable, her scores will start to reflect that."

Senior Cadence Skibitsky registered a personal best of 105 while Grace Loutzenhiser and Hailey Gove finished with scores of 110 and 117, respectively. Aspen Little-Torrez shot a 114 playing as an individual.

"Cadence, she's picked up the game quickly and her softball background has really helped her," Deprez said. "Grace is hungry, and I feel she is just one tournament away from figuring it out a bit more — she's very close."

Sandpoint was set to compete at the Coeur d'Alene Invite on Friday at the Circling Raven Golf Club, but the tournament was canceled. The Bulldogs will be back in action Tuesday for another invitational hosted by Lewiston at the Lewiston Golf and Country Club.
