Whitefish Theatre Company holds auditions for 'Perfect Arrangement'
Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 2 months, 3 weeks AGO
The Whitefish Theatre Company is holding auditions for "Perfect Arrangement" by Topher Payne, their first Black Curtain production of the 2025-2026 season.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish. Please arrive early to fill out an audition application, complete a waiver form, and review the script. Please enter through the north side of the building near WTC’s parking lot and conference room.
It’s 1950 in Georgetown and new colors are being added to the Red Scare. Two U.S. State Department employees, Bob and Norma, have been tasked with identifying deviants within their ranks. There’s just one problem: Both Bob and Norma are gay, and have married each other’s partners as a carefully constructed cover-up for their own careers. Inspired by the true story of the earliest stirrings of the American gay rights movement, "Perfect Arrangement" merges madcap sitcom-style laughs with provocative drama as two “All-American” couples struggle to maintain their cover – and their sanity – in 1950s America.
The cast includes three women and four men with varied age ranges. No experience or preparation is necessary to audition. Pages from the script will be provided. If you would like to familiarize yourself with the script, it is available at valley public libraries. Rehearsals for "Perfect Arrangement" will begin shortly after auditions, with performances on September 27 and 28, 2025.
Please note that this is a Black Curtain Reading with minimal set and costumes, and the actors will be reading from their scripts. It is a great opportunity for actors of all experience levels to get on stage!
