Jean Von Sprecken, 93

Jean Mae Von Sprecken was born Nov. 17, 1931, to John William and Ada May (Weston) Randolph in Auburn, Calif. She grew up there, graduated from Auburn High School and then attended college. She married Raymond Alfred Winton, and this union was blessed with five children: Barbara, Dorothy, Sharon, Pamela and David. Following this marriage, she met Orvin Von Sprecken in Huntington Beach, Calif. They were united in marriage April 11, 1976, and their union was blessed with 49 years together. The marriage brought together a blended family with Orvin’s children — Donna, Tracy and Kenneth.
The couple made their home and raised their family in Huntington Beach and in 1980, moved to Hayden, Idaho. Jean held various jobs, including secretary and registrar for the school district, escrow officer, legal secretary, working for the public defender’s office, travel agent and office manager for Michael Bibins' accounting. She retired and took care of her mother until her death.
Jean entered the care of Hospice of North Idaho at her home and died peacefully Sept. 2, 2025, at the age of 93 years. The family expresses their gratitude and thanksgiving for the compassionate care that Jean received.
Jean was a longtime member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene and Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Rathdrum. She was also a member of PEO. Jean enjoyed traveling and RVing for the winters in Hemet, Calif., gardening, calligraphy, pinochle, dominoes and especially time spent with her family.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Orvin; children Barbara (and Corey) Watson of Edgewood, N.M., Pamela (and Tim) Brewer of Meridian, Idaho, David (and Penelope) Winton of Cocolalla, Idaho, Donna Von Sprecken of Norco, Calif., Tracy Shannon of Penrose, Colo., Kenneth Von Sprecken of Gaston, Ore.; 10 grandchildren, Dustin, Cole, Morgan, Jose, Ruthy, Teddy, Ian, Lily, Katie and Hailey; six great grandchildren, Chloe, Blake, Rory, Reggie, Emilie and Emmett; nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Sharon Winton and Dorothy Sarten, and her brother, John William Randolph Jr.
Blessed and eternal be the memory of Jean Mae Von Sprecken.
Funeral service is Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church at 13541 W. Highway 53, Rathdrum, ID 83858. A reception will follow before the interment at Riverview Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Idaho.
