Following a successful 2024 debut, the North Idaho Film Festival will return Sept. 25–27 for a second year of celebrating independent film.
Cinephiles and filmmakers will gather at Regal Cinema Riverstone for three days of screenings and Q&A sessions. Last year’s inaugural festival featured filmmakers from all over the U.S., a directors-only workshop and a packed schedule of screenings and events that energized the local community and visiting film lovers. The 2025 festival will introduce new elements, including a 30th anniversary screening of "Braveheart" with special surprises, a streamlined all-access festival pass for $75 and a fresh lineup of innovative films and exclusive programming.
Organized as a nonprofit, the NoID Film Festival was founded with a mission to elevate emerging creative voices and minds in the film industry. With an increasing number of mainstream films recycling familiar storylines, NoID aims to provide a stage for filmmakers offering new, unique and thought-provoking perspectives.
“Our first year showed just how much energy and appetite there is for independent film in North Idaho," NoID Film Festival Executive Director Matt Edwards said in a Sept. 6 news release. "This year, we’re raising the bar with new content, bigger experiences and a format that makes it easier than ever for audiences to immerse themselves in everything the festival has to offer.”
The festival will include a screening of the locally filmed "Recollection," made by the Butera family of Coeur d'Alene, at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at Riverstone Regal Cinema. "Recollection" won awards and high praise at the 2025 Spokane International Film Festival.
The NoID Film Festival will have a booth in Rotary Centennial Park, 316 E. Sherman Ave., during this evening's ArtWalk from 5 to 8 p.m. in downtown Coeur d'Alene. Local filmmaker and "Recollection" Director Caden Butera will also be on site to answer questions and meet with ArtWalk goers.
