PREP GOLF: Lake City's Lambert, Viking girls win at Lewiston invite

CLARKSTON, Wash. — Lake City junior Trey Lambert, who recently committed to Boise State, shot a 4-under-par-67 to earn boys medalist honors at the Lewiston Invitational at Quail Ridge Golf Course.
Brooklyn Leen and Mack Kelly each shot 89s for Coeur d’Alene, which claimed the girls team by one stroke over Lewiston, and three over Lakeland.
Coeur d'Alene's top players sat this one out after competing in tournaments at Moscow and McCall earlier this week.
“It was really awesome down at Quail today,” Coeur d’Alene girls golf coach Jeff Lake said. “Our girls played outstanding in hot conditions on a tough and hilly golf course. I’m so impressed with their perseverance and commitment to our team and the game of golf. It was a really fun day and we will look to build and keep our momentum rolling.”
Lewiston won the boys team title with a 291, with Lake City finishing second with a 298.
“Proud of the team today," Lake City boys coach Nik Bjurstrom said. "Great to see the hard work showing up on the course for them. They are a dedicated group so it’s nice to see the scores reflect that.”
Lewiston’s Shelby Arellano was girls medalist with an 86.
