Troy/Lake Creek TV District plans Sept. 16 outage

The Troy/Lake Creek TV District has been working on a major upgrade to their broadcast antennas located just west of King Mountain.
According to a news release from the district, board chairman Mike Giesey and members Ted Dodson, Deanise Killingsworth, Karen Helmrick, Clint Taylor, along with Chris Petitpas and technician Jim Bowen, have been planning this upgrade over the past year.
The current broadcast antennas, installed in 2014, will be replaced with panel atennas that are a new technology. The new antennas will broadcast a stronger signal - especially in fringe areas - and the broadcast footprint will be larger.
With the help of brodacast engineers Mike Peterson and Shannon Wright from Spokane Public TV (KSPS), Eric Lederhos of EL Automation made this project possible. The broadcast signal will be off during the antenna change for most of the day on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
District officials encourage anyone to scan for over the air channels on or after the evening of Sept. 16 - even if they don't currently receive a signal.
