William 'Bill' Henry Goodwin, 89

William “Bill” Henry Goodwin Jr., 89, of Osburn, Idaho, passed away Sept. 4, 2025, at Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg, Idaho. Bill was born Sept. 9, 1935, in Danville, Ill., a son of the late William Henry Goodwin Sr., and Louise Ora (Clark) Goodwin.
Bill attended schools in Everett, Wash., and Mukilteo, Wash., and then enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. Bill was the owner and operator of Automotive Specialties and Research and Development, a company he started in Everett, Wash. Bill later moved the business to Long Beach, Calif., before moving to Idaho in 1971. Bill then moved to the Silver Valley from Post Falls, Idaho, in 1981.
Bill married Joan Marie DeSoto on Feb. 13, 2016, in Pinehurst, Idaho. He enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing and camping.
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his daughter, Angie Spangler, who passed away in June of 2025.
He is survived by his wife, Joan, of Osburn, Idaho; a daughter, Tammy (Roger) Hamilton, of Pinehurst, Idaho; a stepdaughter, Joan Marie (Kaleb) Kelly of Granite Falls, Wash.; six grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
