JEROME — Freshman Molly McClennan scored off a rebound of a corner kick by sophomore McKenzie White in the 18th minute for North Idaho College in a 1-0 win over the College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles in a Scenic West Athletic Conference match at Founders Park on Saturday.

“McKenzie played a ball that bounced off Zoey’s (Glenn) head and went to Molly’s feet,” NIC coach Kellsi Parson said. “We did a good job of putting it in the back of the net.”

Sophomore Serena Hand had two saves for NIC (3-2-1, 3-0 SWAC), which hosts Utah-State Eastern (3-3, 1-2) on Thursday at Eisenwinter Field.

“Our defense played really well,” Parson said. “She played a real solid 90 minutes. Our legs were a little tired, but those kids played amazing in the back today.”

CSI, which received votes in this week’s NJCAA poll, is 3-1, 2-1.

First half — 1, NIC, Molly McClennan (McKenzie White), 18:25. Second half — none.

Shots on goal — NIC 1, CSI 2.

Saves — NIC, Serena Hand 2; CSI, Kirstine Kent 0.

JEROME — The host Golden Eagles scored in the 61st minute to upset the No. 14 Cardinals in a Scenic West Athletic Conference match at Founders Park.

“Overall, the guys played really well and outplayed CSI by far,” NIC coach Brad Williams said. “They kicked it away every single time they got it and we tried to play a possession-style and get shots away, which we did. But it was difficult to play against a constant longball.”

Caique Maia scored for CSI (3-3, 3-0 SWAC), which travels to Salt Lake on Thursday.

NIC (6-2, 2-1) hosts Utah State-Eastern (2-1-2, 1-1-1) on Thursday.

First half — none. Second half — 1, CSI, Caique Maia (Diego Nogales), 61:07.

Shots on goal — NIC 5, CSI 5.

Saves — NIC, Indra Suarjana 0, Ariel Martinez 4; CSI, Robert Foster 4.
