Emma Theilbahr, University of Denver Soccer

A 2022 graduate of IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) who also played soccer for Sandpoint High, Emma scored goals during both the 24th and 65th minutes in the Lady Pioneers' recent 2-1 comeback win over No. 25 Colorado State. The former two-time All-Inland Empire League pick as a freshman and sophomore headed in both her goals via corner kicks to give Denver their first victory over a nationally-ranked team at home since Aug. 29, 2019, when they defeated No. 24 Texas by a score of 3-0. Through nine games and nine starts this season, the 5-foot 11-inch redshirt junior defender leads the Lady Pioneers in goals (3) and points (7) and has played 779 minutes in total. She became just the second player this season to post a multi-goal outing for Denver (3-3-3), which starts Summit League play Thursday when they travel to North Dakota. All league games will be streamed on the Summit League Network.

Matyus McLain, University of Idaho Football

A 2023 graduate of Priest River High, Matyus had three tackles, one for a 2-yard loss, in the Vandals' recent 20-6 home win over Utah Tech. The former three-time All-Central Idaho League selection made his third straight start of the season in the victory for Idaho (2-1), which travels to FBS San Jose State this Saturday. The game, which is the Vandals’ final non-conference matchup of the year, kicks off at 2 p.m. and will be streamed on the Mountain West Network.

Luke Butler, Pacific Lutheran University Golf

A 2023 graduate of Priest River High, Luke finished a team-best eighth out of 38 golfers with a total gross 2-over-par 144 (70-74) across two rounds at the Whitworth Fall Invitational held Sunday and Monday and Indian Canyon Golf Course in Spokane. The former three-time state qualifier for the Spartans finished with seven birdies in total, four of which came during his 1-under-par first round, and tallied 20 pars for the Lutes, which placed fifth out of seven scoring teams. Pacific Lutheran returns to action Sept. 29 and Sept. 30 for their home invitational set to be held at The Home Course in Dupont, Wash.

Taylor Mire, Lewis-Clark State College Golf

A 2025 graduate of Sandpoint High, Taylor finished tied for 14th out of 42 golfers with a total gross 5-over-par 221 (71-74-76) across three rounds at the 7th annual Northwest Iowa Invitational held Monday and Tuesday at the Willow Creek Golf Course in Le Mars, Iowa. The former four-time team MVP as a Bulldog tallied 11 birdies, six during her career-best 1-under-par 71 first round, and 27 pars. She was the No. 1 golfer for the Lady Warriors, which placed sixth out of eight scoring teams. Lewis-Clark State College will play next Sept. 22 and Sept. 23 at the Kalispel Invitational hosted by Eastern Washington University at the Kalispel Golf and Country Club in Spokane.

Connor Alexander, Lewis-Clark State College Cross Country

A 2022 graduate of Bonners Ferry High, Connor finished 67th out of 124 runners with an 8,000-meter time of 26 minutes, 19.2 seconds (5:17 per mile) at the Washington State Cougar Classic held Friday at the Colfax Golf Course and Country Club. The former Badger standout was the No. 3 runner for the Warriors, which finished seventh out of nine scoring teams. The field included five NCAA Division I teams and one NCAA Division II team. 

Camille Ussher, Lewis-Clark State College Cross Country 

A 2022 graduate of Bonners Ferry High, Camille placed 45th out of 81 runners with a 6,000-meter time of 23 minutes, 42.4 seconds (6:21 per mile) at the Washington State Cougar Classic. The former Lady Badger speedster was the No. 3 runner for the Lady Warriors, which finished seventh out of eight scoring teams. Lewis-Clark State College will travel to Bellingham, Wash., on Friday, Sept. 26, for the Western Washington Invitational. 

Luke McCorkle, Whitworth University Football

A 2022 graduate of Sandpoint High, Luke, a 6-foot 1-inch, 170-pound defensive back posted a career-high five tackles, three of which were solo, in the Pirates' recent 16-10 road loss to Eastern Oregon. The former All-Inland Empire League honoree also had two tackles in a season-opening 23-10 win over Gustavus Adolphus. Whitworth (1-1) will host Redlands, their final non-conference matchup of the season, for military appreciation day Saturday.

Braylyn Bayer, Weber State University Golf

A 2024 graduate of Bonners Ferry High, Braylyn, playing as an independent, placed seventh out of 33 golfers with a total gross 6-over-par 150 (75-75) across two rounds at the Utah Fall Intercollegiate Shootout held Sunday and Monday at Wolf Creek Golf Club in Eden, Utah. The former 4A state champion sunk six birdies, three in each round, and 19 pars for the Lady Wildcats, which beat out three other in-state rivals (Utah Valley, Utah Tech and Southern Utah) to win the tournament. Weber State returns to action Sept. 28 through Sept. 30 at the Harbottle Invitational hosted by Seattle University at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club.

Avery Bayer, Idaho State University Golf

A 2024 graduate of Bonners Ferry High, Avery finished tied for 48th out of 66 golfers with a total gross 17-over-par 233 (74-80-79) across three rounds at the Yellowstone Invitational hosted by Montana State University on Monday and Tuesday at the Riverside Country Club in Bozeman. The former Lady Badger standout had seven birdies, four of which came consecutively on holes 14 through 17 during her tied-for-career-best 2-over-par 74 first round, and 26 pars for the Lady Bengals, which placed sixth out of 11 scoring teams. Idaho State, like Lewis-Clark State College, will also be at the Kalispel Invitational in Spokane next week.

Aubree Lane, Spokane CC Volleyball

A 2024 graduate of Sandpoint High, Aubree, a 5-foot 10-inch pin hitter, had 11 kills, 15 serve receptions, and three digs across just two sets played in a recent 3-0 win over Chemeketa at the NWAC Crossover Tournament held this past Friday and Saturday in Everett. The Sasquatch went 3-1 at the tourney, also defeating Everett (3-2) and Umpqua (3-0) over the weekend. Spokane (8-3) hosted North Idaho College on Wednesday and hosts Yakima Valley on Friday.

Kimberly Lucas, University of Maine at Fort Kent Volleyball

A 2025 graduate of Bonners Ferry High, Kimberly produced a combined 16 kills, six aces, seven digs and a block assist in recent wins over Husson University (3-2) and Central Maine CC (3-0). The 5-foot 6-inch outside hitter had a career-high five aces for the Lady Bengals in the win over Central Maine. UMaine at Fort Kent (2-3) hosts Fisher College for a doubleheader Saturday, Sept. 27.

Rylie Kimball, Clark University Volleyball

A 2025 graduate of Bonners Ferry High, Rylie recorded her first two collegiate kills in a recent 3-0 loss to Hamilton College. The former two-year varsity starter for the Lady Badgers has seen playing time in eight sets across the Lady Cougars' first five games of the season. Clark University (0-5) traveled to the University of Hartford on Tuesday and hosts Salve Regina this upcoming Tuesday.
