The Libby Logger golf team hosted its annual invitational last week. The first round was held Thursday at Indian Spring Golf Course in Eureka with competition wrapping up Friday at Cabinet View Golf Course in Libby.
While the team dealt with a few withdrawals due to illness, several still played both rounds.
For the boys, Teague Thompson opened with a strong 87 in Eureka. He struggled Friday, shooting 104 for a two-day total of 191. Layton Jacobson scored 102-110 for 212.
Porter Hollingsworth carded a 150-110 for 260 and Cole Sunell shot 130-132 for 262. Degan Quinn missed Thursday’s play but played well Friday with a 91 at Cabinet View.
For the girls, Lucy DeShazer’s scored 121 Thursday and 127 Friday for a two-day total of 248.
Teammate Addison Skranak scored 121 Thursday, but withdrew Friday due to an illness.
“We are hoping to have everyone healthy for Hamilton this next weekend and also back to Hamilton in two weeks for divisionals,” Loggers head coach Dann Rohrer said. “The girls continue to shadow each other with shooting the same score! They are very consistent and really fun to work with.”
Rohrer credited the leadership of Thompson.
“On the boys side, Teague continues as a good leader shooting a very fine 87 in Eureka on a challenging course! Layton Jacobson also scored well in Eureka shooting 102,” Rohrer said. “Back in Libby Degan Quinn rejoined us and fired a good 91. Porter Hollingsworth had a great comeback on the second day of the tournament with 110!”
Bigfork’s Keegan Campbell won the girls event with a two-day total of 192 while Brady Powell of Corvallis was a blistering minus-7 for a two day total of 136 to win the boys event.
