PRIEST RIVER — Senior Jayda Storro and junior Raygn Turner tied for a team-high six kills as the Lady Spartans bested the Lady Bulldogs in straight sets (25-22, 25-13, 25-11) in 3A Central Idaho League action Saturday at Priest River High.

Offensively, Turner added a team-high five aces, sophomore McKinley Burgess-Duquette had three aces of her own, and Storro chipped in a team-high 13 assists for Priest River, which overcame a 14-11 first set deficit and scored seven straight points to end the second set.

On defense, Turner chipped in six digs, as did senior Toni Marinello, and had two blocks in the winning effort. Burgess-Duquette and freshman Hadley Sandau also recorded two blocks apiece as the Lady Spartans outscored their opponents 10-2 to end the third set and complete the sweep.

Priest River 3, Timberlake 0

PRIEST RIVER — Senior Jayda Storro tallied a team-high 10 kills and a team-high 23 assists as the Lady Spartans captured their eighth win of the season with a sweep of the Lady Tigers (25-19, 25-17, 25-23) Monday night in non-league play at Priest River High.

Junior Raygn Turner and sophomore McKinley Burgess-Duquette each had eight kills for Priest River, which led for the entire second set after building a 12-5 advantage early and overcame an 18-12 deficit to capture the third set, finishing on a 7-1 run. Turner and junior Haylee Jepson-Church had two aces apiece in the winning effort.

Defensively, junior Aleigha Jensen put together a season-high three blocks while junior Callie Stanger registered a team-high 10 digs.

Priest River (8-1), which has won five straight, will look to remain hot when they host Orofino for a 3A Central Idaho League match Saturday.
