Wallace d. Post Falls JV 

WALLACE — Senior Kylee Phillips had 16 kills, 20 digs and three blocks as the Miners notched a reverse sweep of the Trojan junior varsity, 21-25, 19-25, 25-12, 25-16, 16-14. 

Megan Hill had 11 kills and 18 digs, Kayden Stutzke 24 assists and three aces, Aubrey Birdsell 21 assists, 15 digs and five kills for Wallace.

Wallace d. Coeur du Christ 

COEUR d’ALENE — Senior Kylie Phillips totaled 13 kills, 11 digs and a block as the visiting 2A Miners swept the 1A Saints 25-14, 25-23, 25-10 in nonleague play at Holy Family Catholic School. 

Megan Hull added 11 kills, six digs and four aces for Wallace, Aubrey Birdsell 19 assists and eight digs, Anna Rehnborg eight digs and two aces. 

Senior Maddie Junkin had eight kills and four blocks for Coeur du Christ. Kate Clemens had five blocks, Angelica Ross eight digs.

Lakeside d. Wallace 

PLUMMER —Senior Kimberly Pluff had 11 kills and 15 digs as the host Knights beat the Miners 25-22, 25-23, 13-25, 25-23 in a key Scenic Idaho Conference match at Ron Miller Court. 

Tylah Lambert added five kills, 27 assists and eight digs for Lakeside. Rayna Schatz had five kills, seven digs and two aces, Ambi Aldrich four kills, Saydee Peone eight kills and six digs, Allisue Hendrickx six digs, Laila Charley three digs. “We were ready for Wallace,” Lakeside coach Devyn Moore said. “My seniors tonight played all out, from aggressive swings by Pluff to Izzy Kee’s serves. Tylah was everywhere and Rayna played one heck of a net game. My serve receive was on point and we were ready to play. What a great win.” 

Senior Megan Hull had 13 kills and two aces, senior Kylee Phillips 11 kills, 21 digs, three blocks, senior Aubrey Birdsell 18 assists and 12 digs, senior Anna Rehnborg 14 digs, junior Grace DeLano five kills and junior Kayden Stutzke 17 assists and eight digs for Wallace. 


KELLOGG VOLLEYBALL

Kellogg d. St. Maries 

KELLOGG – The host Wildcats stayed undefeated with a Central Idaho League win over St. Maries 23-12, 25- 7, 25-10. 

Kellogg freshman Gretah Angle had eight kills, while sophomore Ella Yrjana finished with 10 aces on 32 total serves. Junior Jordyn Stutzke finished with 10 digs.

KELLOGG – The Wildcats knocked off the visiting Bulldogs in a special midday match at Andrews Gymnasium. No stats or info were received for this match.

Clark Fork d. Mullan  

CLARK FORK — Junior Nora-Jean Hoy served up a season-high nine aces, sophomore Kiylah Anderson had six aces of her own and the Lady Cats swept the Lady Tigers (25-6, 25-4, 25-16) in a non-league matchup Tuesday night at Clark Fork High. 

Senior Aurora Lane registered a team-high nine kills and seven digs while freshman Vanessa Rogier had five kills, four in the third set. 

"We went into tonight with a goal to better the ball and be intense on defense; we have a saying this year, 'nothing surprises us'...," Clark Fork High head coach Lyndsie Kiebert-Carey said. "I think the girls did well with that tonight. Serving spots was very successful for us."

Mullan d. Genesis Prep 

MULLAN – The host Tigers knocked off the Jaguars at the Mullan Athletic Pavilion 23-25, 22-25, 25-16, 25-20, 15-11. 

“It was an all-around effort with excellent hustle tonight,” Mullan coach Dawn McKinnon said. “A great come-from-behind win.”  

Tiger Kaydence Elliot finished with four aces, while teammate Cambria Wilson grabbed five assists and five blocks.  


KELLOGG FOOTBALL

St. Maries 39 Kellogg 14  

ST. MARIES — Senior halfback Aiden Yearout ran for 72 yards and four touchdowns, three coming in the second quarter for the St. Maries Lumberjacks in a 39-14 win over the Kellogg Wildcats in a Central Idaho League opener at St. Maries High on Friday. 

After senior Isaiah Gustaffe returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown for St. Maries, Kellogg scored a pair of touchdowns to take a 14-6 lead. Yearout scored on a 41-yard run before the end of the first quarter to make it 14-12 Kellogg after the first. 

Yearout scored from 3, 1 and 5 yards out in the second quarter as the Lumberjacks took a 32-14 halftime lead. St. Maries capped the scoring on a 27-yard touchdown pass from Jack Barta to Brock Barta in the fourth quarter. 

Kellogg’s offense was marred by miscues and penalties throughout the game, including a return touchdown that was called back and only converting one of several redzone opportunities.  

Jack Barta threw for 313 yards for St. Maries, which travels to Moscow next Friday. 

Porter Lewis scored two touchdowns for Kellogg, which visits Timberlake next Friday. 


WALLACE FOOTBALL

Wallace 66 Clark Fork 12 

SILVERTON — Wallace sophomore Lennox Radford had five total touchdowns, four on the ground for the Miners in a nonleague win over the Wampus Cats at the Sather Field Athletic Complex. 

Sophomore quarterback Cooper Miller threw for two touchdowns and ran for another for Wallace, which led 52-0 at halftime. 


SILVER VALLEY SWIM

The Wallace High School Swim Team delivered an impressive performance at their meet on September 13, held at the Kroc Center in Coeur d'Alene. 

Coach Bryan Stepro praised the team’s efforts, highlighting several standout moments. “Alice Masiello had a phenomenal swim in the Women’s 200 Yard Individual Medley,” said Stepro. “She set a new school record with a time of 2:52.07, and that’s a huge accomplishment for her and for Wallace.” 

Aliyah Birdsell also earned recognition for her performance. “Aliyah set a personal record in the 100 Yard Freestyle,” Stepro noted. “She’s been working hard, and it’s great to see that pay off.” 

Teamwork was on full display in the Women’s 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. “Our relay team—Sophia Berry, Annika Kessler, Aliyah Birdsell, and Alice Masiello—set a new team PR,” said Stepro. “That shows the depth of talent and the chemistry these swimmers have built.” 

The meet also saw strong individual efforts in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. “Both Aaron Berry and Sophia Berry hit new personal bests in their races,” Stepro added. “It was a day of excellent performances across the board.” 

Coach Stepro concluded with a message of pride and encouragement: “Congratulations to the Wallace Swim Team on their accomplishments. We’re looking forward to building on this momentum at our next meet on September 27, again at the Kroc Center.” 


KELLOGG CROSS COUNTRY

BONNERS FERRY — The host Badgers swept team titles at the Bonners Ferry Invitational at Bonners Ferry High School.

Bonners Ferry senior Ethan Cowell won the boys race in 18 minutes, 43 seconds.

Newport senior Aimee Busby won the girls race in 21:14.
