Douglas leads Lady Bulldogs at Browning race

Whitefish cross-country athletes delivered a balanced team performance Saturday at the Browning Invitational, highlighted by a top-10 finish from junior Sophie Douglas in the girls race.
Douglas placed ninth overall in 22:23.15, pacing a deep Lady Bulldog lineup. She was joined in the top 20 by junior Sierra Gibb (11th, 22:46.16) and freshman Addie Nerdig (18th, 24:06.23). Senior Maren Cromie (19th, 24:10.06) and sophomore Sylvia Blair (27th, 26:56.62) completed Whitefish’s scoring five, keeping the Bulldogs competitive in a strong field dominated by Columbia Falls and Bigfork up front.
The Whitefish boys also showed consistency, led by sophomore Mason Loeffler, who ran 19:46.24 for 22nd place. Freshman Carver Brown turned in a personal-best 20:06.86 to place 25th, while seniors Koru Larimore (26th, 20:17.15), Noah Oaks (27th, 20:18.07) and Henry Boysen (28th, 20:19.51) packed tightly within seconds of each other. Senior Logan Hyland was right behind in 30th (20:28.93), giving Whitefish one of the tightest spreads in the field.
