Whitefish spikers split against Corvallis, Hamilton

The Whitefish volleyball team had a busy home doubleheader Saturday, sweeping Corvallis and battling Hamilton in a hard-fought four-set loss.

The Bulldogs rolled past Corvallis 25-19, 25-20, 25-10. Senior Camry Kelch led the offense, with eight kills and seven aces. Allie Shors directed the attack with 25 assists, while Kelch led the defense with eight digs. Eleanor Archie  and Shors each had seven digs

Whitefish also tallied 11 aces as a team.

Whitefish dropped a 25-18, 25-22, 24-26, 25-17 decision to Hamilton but pushed the Broncs throughout. The Bulldogs racked up 41 kills, with Kelch having ten and Annabelle Barrile combining to notch eight. Eddie Peterson also had eight kills Shors dished out 28 assists, and Archie once again shined on defense with 22 digs. Kelch and Barrile each had 21 digs, while Stella Frisbee had four blocks.

“It was a great day of growth,” coach Addy Connelly said. “The girls played gritty ball, mixed up the offense, and didn’t let much hit the floor. An all-around great effort.”

The Whitefish Bulldogs opened their volleyball season in style Tuesday, sweeping Libby 25-10, 25-16, 25-11 at home. It was a complete team effort, with all hitters contributing to a balanced attack. Allie Shors directed the offense with 21 assists and added two aces, while Camry Kelch led at the net with nine kills.

Stella Frisbee, Annabelle Barrile, Sol Holmquist chipped in five kills each, and the Bulldogs racked up 13 aces as a team. Defensively, Kelch paced Whitefish with eight digs.

“Great well-rounded play,” Connelly said. “Everyone contributed a solid game.”
