Post Falls High to celebrate its stars ... Hedge, Loper, Coles, Mueller to be honored at Templin's Resort Saturday

Former Post Falls High stars Kelcie Hedge, Katelyn Loper, Tim Coles and Timmy Mueller will be inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame during a banquet at Templin's Resort starting at 6 p.m.

Hedge, who graduated in 2015, was named the state girls soccer Gatorade Player of the Year in 2013, scoring 18 goals with 12 assists to lead the Trojans to the state 5A championship game. Hedge was a two-time all-state selection. After her sophomore season, Hedge played with the U.S. U-17 national team during her junior and senior seasons and also redshirted her freshman year at Washington to play with the squad. 

She was named to the Pac-12 Conference All-Freshman team and later transferred to Santa Clara, where she was named a first-team All-American and West Coast Conference Player of the Year as a redshirt junior in 2018.

Hedge concluded her time with the national team playing for the U-23 team in 2019.

Hedge was selected by the Seattle Reign with the ninth overall pick in the 2020 NWSL Draft and finished her career with the Houston Dash in 2023.

Loper, a 2010 graduate, was the 2010 girls basketball Gatorade Player of the Year in 2010 and was named all-state in 2008 and 2010 and was a second-team selection in 2009. Loper was nominated for the McDonald's All-American game in 2010 and averaged 22 points per game as a senior, finishing as the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,337 points.

She began her college career at Hofstra, where she was named to the Coastal Athletic Association All-Rookie team as a freshman. After transferring to Oregon, she made 83 3-pointers, which was the second most for a single season and also tied the school record with nine 3-pointers in a single game (vs. Cal State Bakersfield, Nov. 9, 2013) during the 2013-14 season.

She is currently fifth for 3-point field goals and seventh for 3-point field goal percentage in a season at Oregon.

Loper played professionally for the Musel Pikes in Luxemburg, finishing her career averaging 11.3 points per game.

Coles, a 1972 graduate, was named to the all-state basketball team, scoring 42 points and making 18 field goals in a single game, a state A-2 single game scoring record. In track and field, Coles set the state record in the long jump at 22 feet, 7 inches and was a two-time state champion in the 180-yard low hurdles. In football, he was a three-time all-league selection at wide receiver and caught 20 touchdown passes as a senior. He was a finalist for the Idaho Amateur Athlete of the Year in 1972.

Coles went on to play football at Idaho and set the record for the longest touchdown reception in program history with an 82-yard catch against Boise State. He was named to the all-Big Sky Conference team as a wide receiver in 1973 and 1975.

As a basketball coach, Coles finished his career with a 554-211 record and led Garfield-Palouse to Washington state championships in 1990, 2000 and 2001. He was inducted into the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2011.

Mueller, a 2014 graduate, was the state boys soccer Gatorade Player of the Year in 2013 and led the Trojans to the state 5A championship. He also set a state record with 104 career goals.

After high school, Mueller went on to Oregon State, where he was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and an All-American in 2014. He was also an all-conference first-team selection in 2015 and second-team in 2016.  He was an All-Academic first-team selection in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Mueller was selected by the Portland Timbers in the third round of the 2018 MLS Draft and finished his professional career playing for SR Delemont in Switzerland, scoring eight goals in 11 matches.
