BONNERS FERRY — Bonners Ferry High senior Ethan Cowell won the boys race, sophomore Kylie Calderone was third in the girls race, as the Badgers swept team titles at their home invitational held Saturday at Bonners Ferry High.

Cowell's time of 18 minutes, 43 seconds beat out 25 other runners as he captured gold. Freshman Jonathan Bollschweiler (3rd, 19:18), freshman Gordon Woelfle (8th, 20:31), freshman Brecken Miller (10th, 20:34) and sophomore Brock Tuma (11th, 21:52) rounded out the scorers for Bonners Ferry's boys, which defeated Kellogg by one point.

For the girls, Calderone's bronze medal time of 21 minutes, 42 seconds beat out 25 other runners. Junior Gia Roemer (7th, 24:13), freshman Marissa Pruitt (11th, 26:18), sophomore Cheyenne Schutte (12th, 26:34), and sophomore Abigail Huggins (13th, 26:58) rounded out the scorers for Bonners Ferry's girls, which beat out Newport by two points.

Bonners Ferry will head to the Can-Am Invitational hosted by Kettle Falls High this Saturday.
