CLARK FORK — Talk about a freshman-senior combo.

Freshman Kiylah Anderson tallied a team-high 32 assists and six aces, senior Aurora Lane recorded a tied for team-high 10 kills and 11 digs and the Lady Cats defeated the Lady Knights (25-22, 25-27, 25-22, 25-18) in 2A Scenic Idaho Conference action Thursday night at Clark Fork High.

"Kiylah mixed it up better than any setter I have ever coached and most certainly better than any 14-year-old I've coached," Clark Fork High head Lyndsie Kiebert-Carey said of the freshman phenom, who also had four kills and nine digs on the night.

Also impressive, Lane, who recently passed 100 positive serve receptions last week, was 21-for-24 on service receptions for Clark Fork, which was propelled by a large home crowd.

"A shoutout to our booster club and school administration for really beating the drum this week, making sure the community knew how big of a match this was for us," Kiebert-Carey said. "The girls came out locked in on playing for each other, playing fearlessly — that's really something were trying to emphasize this year."

Freshman Vanessa Rogier contributed 10 kills, seven digs, two assists and a block while junior Nora-Jean Hoy chipped in eight kills, nine digs, five aces and a block in the all-around winning effort.

"We had some awesome swings and placed the ball well," Kiebert-Carey said. "Our leaders led, our freshman played awesome, and our crowd was rowdy. When you put those things together, you get to deliver the top-of-the-league team their first loss of the season. I'm really proud of the girls for that."

Senior Piper Scarlett had nine digs and three aces, junior Mya Shutts went 9-for-12 behind the service line with three aces of her own for Clark Fork (5-4), which improves to 2-2 in league play and travels to Mullan for a non-league match Friday.
