Kyle Manzardo, the former Lake City High and Washington State star, had a two-out RBI double in the fifth inning for the Cleveland Guardians in an 8-0 win in the second game of a doubleheader against the host Minnesota Twins on Saturday in Minneapolis.
Cleveland, which won the first game 6-0, is tied with Houston for the third wild-card spot, and holds the tiebreaker over the Astros, has won 15 of its last 16 games and are one game back of first-place Detroit after trailing by 11 on Sept. 4.
Manzardo is now batting .235 (105 for 446) with 26 home runs and 68 RBIs in 135 games played.

Montana Tech 37, Southern Oregon 14: At Ashland, Ore., Jarrett Wilson and Levi Torgerson connected for four touchdowns for the Orediggers (4-0) in a romp over the Raiders (1-2) in front of 2,100 at Raider Stadium.
Derek Pearse, a graduate student from Post Falls High, had two receptions for 17 yards for Montana Tech.
Carroll 35, Dickinson State 7: At Dickinson, N.D., Gunner Giulio, a redshirt junior from Coeur d’Alene High, had a pair of interceptions for the Saints (2-1) in a romp over the Blue Hawks (2-1).
Carroll has won 12 straight in the series since 2000, winning by an average margin of 28.9 points per game.
Kaden Huot completed 20 of 24 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns for Carroll.
College of Idaho 38, Montana State-Northern 16: At Caldwell, Ryken EchoHawk ran for 100 yards on just seven carries for the Yotes (3-0) in a win over the Lights (0-3) of Havre, Mont., at Simplot Stadium.
Trey Gibson, a redshirt freshman from St. Maries High, had 59 yards on four carries for College of Idaho.
Valley City State 3, Eastern Oregon 0: At La Grande, Ore., Walker Brondos kicked a 24-yard field goal with 2:42 remaining in the third quarter for the Vikings (2-1) in a win over the Mountaineers (1-2) at Community Stadium.
Dakota State 44, Arizona Christian 27: At Glendale, Ariz., Tray Hettick passed for 338 yards and four touchdowns as Dakota State (2-1) defeated Arizona Christian (0-2).
