Roger James Gavin

June 27, 1934 — April 29, 2025

Roger James Gavin, 90, in Palm Desert, Calif., passed away peacefully April 29, 2025, with his beloved wife, Noni, at his side.

Born on June 27, 1934, in Missoula, Mont., Roger lived a full and remarkable life. He graduated from the University of Washington, where he was a proud member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. After serving honorably as a veteran of the U.S. Army, Roger went on to enjoy a long and successful career in business.

Roger's life was filled with passions that reflected his joyful spirit. He loved golf, tennis, long walks, Sunday drives, lively gatherings and traveling. He cherished time spent at his homes in Hayden Lake, Idaho, and Palm Desert, Calif., and had a special bond with his puppy, Cowboy. Above all, Roger delighted in meeting new people and making lasting friendships wherever he went.

Roger is survived by his devoted wife, Noni; his three sons, Curtis, Mark and Christopher; two grandchildren; his sister; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Roger's life was held in July at Hayden Lake Country Club. He will be laid to rest at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, this fall.

Roger will be remembered as a caring, kind and loving man whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed.
