Bigfork volleyball uses steady attack to topple Whitefish

Bigfork used a steady attack and balanced team play to take down Whitefish in four sets Thursday, winning 25-20, 22-25, 25-18, 25-10 in Northwest A volleyball action.

The Valkyries leaned on consistent hitting across the lineup, finishing with 34 kills and a .053 hitting percentage. Raegan Waller and Olivia Carlson each tallied eight kills to pace the offense, while Somer Campos added six and Lillie Suffia and Emily Wisman chipped in five apiece. Taylor Howlett proved crucial at setter, handing out 28 assists while also contributing three aces from the service line.

Bigfork’s serve game was effective, totaling 14 aces against just 10 errors. Waller led with five, while Carlson and Suffia combined for five more. Defensively, the Valkyries had 56 digs, led by Howlett and Olivia Claybourn with 11 each. At the net, Suffia anchored the block with seven, supported by Howlett and Campos with four apiece.

After splitting the first two sets, Bigfork tightened up its passing and controlled the front line to pull away in the third and dominate the fourth. The win lifted the Valkyries to 3-0 on the year.
