Girls soccer rolls over Libby, Browning on the road

The Columbia Falls Wildcat girls soccer team added a couple more wins under their belts this past week against both Browning and Libby. Both games were shutouts.
Against Browning in an away game on Sept. 18, the Wildcats would beat the Indians 10-0. The game provided the Cats with opportunities for various players to see action along with finding the net. Scoring for the Wildcats were Taylor Rodgers and Riley Byrd with two a piece, and Cora Hannan, Isla Alexander, Onnikka Lawrence, Mila Johns, Piper Holm, and Harper Holloway each with one.
On Sept. 20 the Cats traveled to Libby to meet up with the Loggers in a game that had them come out in front by a score of 8-0. Lawrence and Tatiana Raymond each scored two for the Cats, and Isla Alexander, Harper Holloway, and Riley Byrd each chipped in one.
Columbia Falls had 31 shots on the goals compared to Libby’s one. Elaina Dorr had one save in the goalie position. The Wildcats had 5 fouls on the days while Libby had 1.
“Every week is important as you get into this late stage of the regular season. Our goal is to continue to improve week in and week out and the girls did that in our games against Browning and Libby,” coach Thomas Clark said. “It was awesome to see Holloway score two goals this week, Hannan had her first career goal, Bailey Elder, and Mikaela Markle got their first varsity minutes. It takes a strong collective program to achieve your goals each year and we got to see some really cool things from our younger players this week,.”
The Wildcats will travel to Plains on Tuesday after presstime. They will then face off against Bigfork for their Homecoming matchup on Thursday in Columbia Falls.
“This Bigfork game is a big one for us, and it will be Homecoming in front of the student body at home, that is exciting stuff. It will take a great effort for the full 80 minutes to get the result we want and I know the girls are going to bring it,” said Clark.
The last time the teams met in Bigfork the game ended in a tie.
