A man with ties to Bonner County passed away from injuries received when his truck was struck by one of two vehicles involved in what authorities said was a road rage incident.
Jose Cesena Sr., whose son Jose Cesena Jr. is the operator and owner of 9B Tacos in Bonners Ferry, was in Long Beach, Calif., on Sept. 16 when a Tesla and Subaru were speeding through traffic after an altercation with each other, according to published reports of the crash. The Tesla then hit the rear of Cesena’s truck, which caused it to crash into a brick wall.
Two passengers in the truck were hospitalized, as was the Tesla driver.
Jose Cesena Sr. was an exterminator and had been working at the same company for over 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, son and three grandchildren.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help his family with funeral and travel expenses.
