The Whitefish soccer teams played Thompson Falls on Thursday at Smith Fields. The girls won 5-0 and the boys won 10-0.

Lady Bulldog Atley Bingham had a standout game against the Blue Hawks, with an assist and two goals. She scored in the 7th minute from an assist by Anna Guzman, then in the 14th minute off a pass from Taylor Dorvall.

“Freshman Atley Bingham started the game off strong with technical dribbling through Thompson Fall’s defense and releasing powerful shots into the net,” Whitefish Head Coach Kelly Ordway said.

Jenna Kimble scored with about 10 minutes to go in the first half.

“Whitefish distributed the ball effectively with Senior Anna Guzman leading the midfield along with Adelle Flynn and Neva Sliman,” Ordway said. “Defense looked very composed building out of the back. Senior Taylor Dorvall applied great pressure on the wing and notched two assists.”

Freshman Hayley Reardon scored in the 56th minute and Adelle Flynn netted one just one minute later.

Three freshmen lead the season’s scoring for the team: Sliman has 12 goals and 7 assists; Bingham has 7 goals and 6 assists; and Reardon has 6 goals and 3 assists.

“While these players are leading the way with numbers, 13 different players have scored this season, showing great diversity in the attack,” Ordway said.

Goalkeepers Jackie Solem and Marlis Nargi kept a clean sheet in all but two games, letting in a total of only 4 goals.

The goal difference rule was in effect in the boys game with Thompson Falls/Plains after Whitefish scored 10 goals in 51 minutes.

The Thompson Falls/Plains team’s goalkeeper, Jacob Howell, made 13 saves for the Blue Hawks, but his team was unable to get a shot on goal.

Jack Oehlerich opened the scoring in the second minute and added three more. Henri Barbieri had two goals and Kyler Jonson found the back of the net three times. Sophomore Graysen Rembaugh added to the total in the 48th minute.

Whitefish played Browning last week and the goal difference rule went into effect in both matches. The Whitefish girls and boys teams each came home with 11-0 wins.

Lady Bulldog Sliman scored four goals and had four assists in a game that saw six different players score all the goals in the first half. The Browning goalkeeper for the girls made seven saves. In the boys’ game, Oehlerich scored four times and Jonson netted five.
