SUP-MT Sports & Events Radio is now on-air and broadcasting the Superior Bobcat football games, live.
It’s not an AM or FM station but in the new era of sports broadcasting which is live-streaming through the internet so the games can be listened to anyplace in the world.
The brainchild is another marvelous community asset from the Mineral County Rec Club which has unofficially taken over the responsibilities of what a chamber of commerce should be doing in their area.
“We’re excited to bring you our very first broadcast, covering local events, sports, and all the things happening right here in Superior, Montana,” beamed MCRC President Bessie Spanler before their first game. “This is new territory for us, and we’re learning as we go—so thanks for tuning in and being part of the journey from the very beginning. Stick with us as we grow, improve, and keep you connected to the heartbeat of our community.”
Drew Hanson, founder of the MCRC said, “From the broadcasting to the individual broadcasters, this is pretty exciting. There will be opportunities to sponsor through the school boosters. In fact, Logan Labbe (Superior Schools Superintendent) has had some great traction with the T-Mobile Friday Night Lights campaign.”
The broadcasts are made possible through the generous support of volunteers and sponsors from Superior and they adhere to MHSA (Montana High School Association) broadcast requirements. They are committed to promoting the highest standards of sportsmanship.
“Our goal is to celebrate athletes, highlight great plays, and recognize academic achievements from all teams,” Hanson said.
Live Broadcasting will begin approximately 10 minutes before game time. The schedule and link to the games is mcrecclub.org/supmt. Go Bobcats!
