Susan K. Knudson
Valley Press-Mineral Independent | UPDATED 2 months, 1 week AGO
Susan K. Knudson of Plains passed away peacefully in Missoula on Sept. 9, 2025, surrounded by family and friends.
She came to Plains in 1986, where she raised her family and started Valley Towing. Over the years, Sue served the community and travelers alike. She drove tow trucks for many years, and though she was small, she was fierce. She met people needing help with a smile, but she didn't tolerate any nonsense. Until recently, she continued to dispatch tow trucks. Many of the drivers called her "mom," and she called them her second sons.
Sue is survived by her husband, John Knudson; children, Elizabeth Haynes (Robert), Michael Wait; stepchildren, David Knudson (Deana), Dan Knudson, Dwayne Knudson (Angela), Deann Hermes (Russ); many grandchildren; and her brother, William Miller (Kim). She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas D. Miller and Violet R. Miller.
Thank you, to friends and the community for all your love and support.
