Idaho men's golf
McCartain, a junior from North Idaho College, shot a 9-under-par 207 in the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, which concluded on Monday at Eisenhower Golf Club in Colorado Springs, Colo. McCartain shot a 1-under 71 in the first round, 3-under 69 in the second and a 5-under 67 in the third and final round as the Vandals shot an 841, breaking a 23-year scoring record to win the team title. McCartain has now played six straight rounds under par and 10 of his last 12 going back to last spring.

Northwest Nazarene women's cross country
Kunkel, a freshman from Lake City High, finished third in the 6K Northwest Nazarene Invitational last Friday at West Park in Nampa, finishing in 22 minutes, 37.1 seconds.
