Dee was born Oct. 19, 1937, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Curtis Ezra Williams and Dortha Mae Wilson. She grew up in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, where she built a life centered on family, friendship and community. She married Norman C. Sommerfeld, of Sandpoint, Idaho, with whom she shared many years of love, laughter and devotion.
Dee worked as an administrative professional, known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and the lasting impression she left on colleagues and friends alike.

Dee will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and cherished friend — someone whose warm presence, encouragement and steady support were a blessing to all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, Norman (Carol) Sommerfeld of Sagle, Idaho, and Lorran (Carol) Sommerfeld of Spokane, Wash.; her brothers, Curtis (Linda) Williams, Bobby (Barbara) Williams and Randee (Kay) Williams; her sister, Diana (Jim) Peterson; as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
A service honoring Dee’s life will be held at First Lutheran Church ELCA, 526 S. Olive, Sandpoint, Idaho. On Sept. 27, 2025, at 1 p.m., there will be a fellowship and a light luncheon to follow.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at North Idaho Schneidmiller Hospice House for their compassionate care.
