Best known for its made-to-order steakburgers and fresh frozen custard desserts, Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers is set to open Tuesday at 498 S. Beck Road — a first for North Idaho.

“We feel thrilled to expand Freddy’s into Post Falls and reach new guests who haven’t yet tried our concept,” said franchise operator Taylor Dietz in a press release. “Our commitment to serving high-quality, cooked-to-order food and providing exceptional hospitality is at the heart of everything we do, and we can't wait to become a part of the community.”

The national chain has over 500 locations across 36 states, including eight in southern Idaho. While Freddy’s has not yet reached Washington state, several franchises are in the works for the Seattle area.

In addition to steakburgers made with “100 percent ground beef,” Freddy’s menu includes all-beef hot dogs, chicken sandwiches and tenders, and a veggie burger option. Sides include shoestring fries, tator tots, cheese curds and onion rings. Frozen custard desserts are churned on-site and have multiple flavor options, including seasonal offerings and a “create-your-own" option.

The 3,026-square-foot newly built restaurant can seat 96 guests, with additional outdoor seating, and has a single-lane drive-thru.

Freddy’s will be joining a number of fast-casual options for both locals and Interstate 90 travelers in the State Line area. The most recent additions to the quickly developing area include Cafe Rio, Wendy’s, and a Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop. A Popeye’s restaurant is currently under construction, which will be the second such restaurant in Post Falls.

Freddy’s will be open 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Mobile ordering through the Freddy’s app and the restaurant’s website will also be available.
