THOMPSON FALLS, Mont. — Freshman Vivian Schuck placed 15th out of 79 runners with a new personal best time of 22 minutes, 5.07 seconds to propel the Lady Bulldogs to a fourth-place finish out of 10 scoring teams at Thompson Falls Invite held Saturday at Rivers Bend Golf Course.

Senior Hannah Ricks (25th, 23:19) and junior Abby Eldore (33rd, 23:51) held down the No. 2 and No. 3 positions while freshmen Emery Evans (45th, 24:45) and Anne Brubaker (46th, 24:46) ran to new personal bests in the No. 4 and No. 5 spots for Sandpoint's girls, which tallied 164 points in total.

For the boys, sophomore Riley Shadel finished 19th out of 114 runners with a new personal best time of 18 minutes, 20.55 seconds.

Junior Jagger Lindgren (30th, 18:57), senior Julian Knight (36th, 19:01), sophomore Thomas Esposito (48th, 19:24) and senior Evan Brubaker rounded out the top five scorers for Sandpoint, which placed fourth out of 17 scoring teams with 185 points.

Lindgren's, Knight's, and Esposito's times were all new personal bests.

Sandpoint returns to action Saturday for the 8th Annual Battle for the 509 at the Spokane Polo Grounds in Airway Heights, Wash.

McLaimtaig, Gunkle break 19-minute barrier at Lake Spokane

NINE MILE FALLS, Wash. — Freshman Tadhg McLaimtaig placed 31st out 92 runners with a new personal best time of 18 minutes, 34.8 seconds to pace the Spartans at the Lake Spokane Invite held Saturday at Lakeside High.

Junior Daniel Gunkle placed 42nd with a new personal best time of 18 minutes, 59.5 seconds.

For the girls, senior Capri White was 33rd out of 104 runners with a time of 23 minutes, 32.8 seconds while senior Kyla White was 39th with a time of 24 minutes, 3.9 seconds for the Lady Spartans, which placed 11th out of 12 scoring teams.

Priest River will compete next at the Pinehurst Golf Course on Thursday for the Ben Castro Invite hosted by Kellogg High.
