Sept. 30, 1975 – GIRL BORN
A girl was born to Dick and Lauren Bowlby, of Sandpoint on Sept. 17 at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John Bowlby and Mr. and Mrs. Laurel Johnson.

CANDY STRIPERS HELP CREDITED
An appreciation tea honored 14 Candy Stripers at BGH, who gave 472 hours of service during the summer. Three of them also served last summer: Jon St. Andre, Lisa Diehl and Angie Weinand. The others are Kellee Gissel, Yonna Atmore, Dawn Gilmore, Terry Gilmore, Carla Hoskins, Julie Richardson, Valerie Williams, Julie Sherwood, Ellie Green, Peggy Snyder and Cheryl Williams.

PARSONS, HESTER TO WED
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Parsons, Priest River, announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter Kathy to Joe H. Hester, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hester, Priest River. Miss Parsons is completing high school at Priest River; Hester is a self-employed logger with H.D. Hester & Sons. The Oct. 3 wedding is planned at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

The Lincoln PTA recently appointed these room representatives: Mrs. Ruth Samson, 1st grade; Mrs. Ted Pursley, 2nd; Mrs. Carl Peterson, 3rd; Mrs. Edna Spealman, 4th; Mrs. Edith Gissel, 5th; and Mrs. Gladys Olson, 6th grade. Mrs. Hazel Emery is program chair; Mrs. Leonard Saunders, lunchroom chair; and Mrs. Ruth Forgey, magazine chairman.

CONFUSED MEN ANSWER TRAFFIC BELLS
A second traffic stop-and-go light was installed Thursday at Fifth and Cedar. The bell that signals the change of lights is loud and attracts attention. Ask the owners of the nearby Sandpoint Farm store, Walt Mountjoy and Ray Maxfield. Seems their telephone sounds like the traffic signal and tother way ‘round. They have done a lot of extra leg work running back and forth through their warehouse answering the traffic light and explaining why they haven’t been answering their telephone.

ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED
Mr. and Mrs. L.B. Kemmis announce the engagement of their daughter, Valeda, to Floyd Van Sawyer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd E. Sawyer. Miss Kemmis, a teacher at the Lincoln school, attended college at Cheney, Wash. Sawyer, a graduate of the local high school, has been assistant parts man at Cady & Pier, Inc., until he was recently inducted into the service. A wedding date has not been set.
