ASSESSOR: Kovacs doesn’t understand job

Assessor Kovacs, in a recent video release, claims to be responsible for builders getting projects done faster due to his office’s moving building permits along faster. Apparently, he doesn’t realize his office does not process building permits: they go through the county and cities’ planning departments, Then the Assessor’s Office gets to go out and do appraisals. He has a way of throwing statements and random Idaho codes out when he’s talking to make people think he knows what he’s talking about.
Please check the facts on Kovacs before you vote in May. His lack of leadership has caused major errors that are costing taxpayers thousands — but it wasn’t his fault! It was the computer system, the Treasurer’s Office, the IT department and his very own employees that caused the error! He never takes responsibility for his own incompetence.
His own employees filed a vote of no confidence against him in 2022 and the Board of County Commissioners attempted to cut his pay in half due to his poor performance. He has been through five chief deputies in five years.
The KCRCC is not backing him! I say thank you KCRCC for stepping up!
