The Mountain Harmony Show Choir and Northwoods Performing Arts are joining forces to put on "High School Musical Jr." for their annual youth show.

Under the direction of Nina Pletsch, the production follows two popular teens auditioning for East High’s spring musical in a nostalgic romp through the ins and outs of high school drama.

Performances are scheduled for April 16-18 and April 23-25. Dinner show tickets are $35 per person, and show‑only tickets are $14. Senior and children’s tickets are $12. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dining service begins at 6:30 p.m., and the curtain rises at 7:30 p.m. The final performance, on April 25, is a matinee, with doors opening at 2 p.m. No meal is served at the matinee.

Organizers said the production is presented by special arrangement, with music supplied by Music Theatre International of New York. The book is by David Simpatico, with music adapted by Bryan Louiselle, and is based on the Disney Channel movie written by Peter Barsocchini.

"You’ll be laughing, singing and cheering throughout this familiar drama of cliquish high school life," said Alice Booth of Northwoods Performing Arts.

Circle Moon Theater is on Highway 211, 3½ miles north of Highway 2.
