Plains golf better sooner than later

It’s better to get started sooner rather than later.
Getting off to an early start, the entire Plains golf team will tee off on its season hosting the Thompson Falls Blue Hawks for a dual match at Wild Horse Golf Course west of Plains Thursday.
Actually, some Plains golfers will get an even earlier start than that as several of the Horsemen and Trotter golfers are also set to compete in the Florence/Darby Invitational in Hamilton Tuesday.
In any event, Lisa Brown returns as head coach for Plains and she said that Max Bebb and Rob Steenerson are serving as assistant coaches this season. Brown said that 15 golfers have turned out for Plains golf, with eight boys and seven girls.
“We have a fun bunch of rookies and three returning lettermen,” Brown said, adding Jarrett Weeks, Eleanor Bebb and Cheynne LittleWhirlwind are those three returnees are expected to be leading Plains this season.
Brown said Plains will host its annual tournament at Wild Horse Friday, April 10.

Hawks await playoff fate
The playoff fate of the Blue Hawks is in the hands of others as Northern conference teams head into the final week of regular season play, but you won’t find coach Jared Koskela and his scrappy young squad fretting about it. They just want to play another day, whichever way they have to do that.
