WPOFD completes wildland fire training

The West Pend Oreille Fire District recently completed its annual refresher wildland fire training. 

The class was taught by David VanNatter and is required for wildland fire personnel to review safety, entrapment avoidance and fire shelter deployment. It focuses on mitigating risks through case studies, industry updates, and instructor-led training, including required hands-on fire shelter drills.

 This class also included a review of last year’s fire year, incident case studies and updated safety information, WPO fire officials said.
