Agencies team up for trees
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 13 hours, 6 minutes AGO
Trees Idaho is working alongside the Arbor Day Foundation and State Farm Insurance to distribute 100 trees to Coeur d'Alene residents.
The event is on May 23. The project aims to address the loss of trees following the severe windstorm in late 2025 and to provide a range of additional benefits to the community, a press release said.
In cities and neighborhoods, trees help reduce high temperatures, mitigate stormwater runoff, improve air quality and boost mental and physical health.
“Trees have the power to drive lasting, positive change in our cities and neighborhoods — they just need our help to plant them. That’s why we’re grateful to partner with organizations like Trees Idaho, who are committed to their role as local tree champions,” said Lachel Bradley-Williams, senior manager of community trees for the Arbor Day Foundation. “Together, we’re growing healthier, more resilient communities for generations to come.”
Trees Idaho has partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation over the last decade to plant nearly 240,000 trees in Idaho communities and across our national forest land.
Trees Idaho will open registration for this tree distribution on April 20. Residents can choose from a list of trees approved by the city and plant them in their yards.
