A local doctor is asking the community to help her medical assistant, Shelley Baysinger, who has end-stage heart failure.
Baysinger has worked at Kootenai Health for more than three years. According to Dr. Brittany Johnson, the CMA in her 30s has been given "a limited amount of time to spread her kindness and joyful spirit. With the time she has, she dreams of being able to travel, laugh and just be happy."
Baysinger has dreams of traveling the world and being happy during her final days. So, Johnson started a GoFundMe asking the Coeur d'Alene community to help make this medical professional's dreams come true.
"Every contribution will help her see new places, try new things and find comfort and joy," Johnson wrote on GoFundMe. "She is truly a loving person, and I am so grateful to anyone willing to support her journey."
Johnson wrote that in the time she has known Baysinger, "her kindness and compassion have touched my life and so many others. Now I want to help her experience happiness and adventure."
