Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 1 month, 2 weeks AGO
The Kootenai County Lemonade Day Fresh Squeezed 5K Fun Run and Kickoff will begin at 9 a.m. April 18 in Riverstone Park, 1805 Tilford Lane, Coeur d'Alene.
Registration is $25 for ages 5 and older or $100 for a group of up to six people. Participants will complete a 5K walk/run and receive a limited-edition completion coin.
The family-friendly community event will commence Lemonade Day in Kootenai County, a program that helps children learn how to start, own and operate small businesses through running lemonade stands.
Through Lemonade Day, kids gain hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, goal setting, customer service and creative problem solving. The Fresh Squeezed 5K Fun Run and Kickoff is designed to celebrate those values while bringing together families, local supporters and young entrepreneurs for a fun and active community event.
“This event is a great way to kick off Lemonade Day season while getting families excited about what kids can accomplish,” Kootenai County Lemonade Day founder Bretta Provost said in a news release. “We want children in our community to see that they can create something of their own, work toward a goal and learn valuable life skills along the way.”
