The Whitefish Theatre Company closes its Main Stage season with the side-splitting romantic comedy, “The Cottage,” by Sandy Rustin, a play full of twists, turns and upper-crust scandal
Set in 1923, Sylvia and Beau find themselves in an English countryside cottage for their yearly rendezvous — when Sylvia decides to expose her affair to both her husband and her lover’s wife. What she doesn’t expect is a complicated and hilarious web of secrets and betrayal to unravel. With a tip of the hat to actor and playwright, Noël Coward, and classic British comedies, the true meaning of fate and faith, identity and infidelity, love and marriage are all called into question in this ridiculously funny romantic romp. Fresh off its Broadway run in 2023.
This laugh-out-loud farce will be performed April 9-12 and 16-18 at the O’Shaughnessy Center, 1 Central Ave., Whitefish. All shows will be held at 7:30 p.m. except for April 12 matinee, which starts at 4 p.m.
Tickets to see the April 9 show are $12 for adults and $10 for students and will only be sold at the box office that night. Tickets to the remaining shows are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $10 for students and may be purchased online at whitefishtheatreco.org, at the box office (open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays), or by calling 406-862-5371.
