Cynthia “Cindy” Cummings Shelley

Cynthia “Cindy” Cummings Shelley of Chehalis, Washington passed away on March 21, 2026.

Cindy was born on Dec. 7, 1955, in Libby, Montana to William “Alex” Cummings and Violet (Rice) Cummings.

Cindy was raised in Troy, Montana and married Dennis Shelley on Feb. 12, 1972, and settled down to raise a family in Libby, Montana then Troy, Montana. 

Cindy had a variety of jobs throughout her adulthood, including cashier at different gas stations in both Montana and Washington. Cindy enjoyed reading books and playing games on her computer and iPad; but was most known for being the family keeper of dates and memories. 

She made sure that social media was aware of any and every sibling, niece, nephew, and beyond and were given a shoutout on their birthday or anniversary, whether on this earth or in heaven. 

Cindy is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis, her parents Alex and Vi, her sister, Wanda (Bryant), her brothers Larry, Jim, and Bill, as well as many other relatives and her beloved dog, Harley. 

Cindy is survived by her children Jenifer (Dan) McLuskie, Sam (Allyson), Kyle (Heidi), and Kaylee (Travis) Remer, and her brothers John, Bob, and Mike.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Alyx (Anthony) Goins, Hunter (Luis) Acosta, Madison Remer, Logan Remer, Kolby Pierce, Keegan Pierce, Lexie Pierce, Chyann Redman, Abigail Redman, and great grandson, Roman Pierce. Additionally, she is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family as well as friends she cared for like family.

A remembrance event with a potluck to follow will be held for Cindy at 1 p.m. Friday, April 10, at the Forest Grange (3397 Jackson Highway, Chehalis, WA 98532). 

An additional service to intern he rashes with Dennis’ will be held at 1 p.m. June 13, 2026, at Milnor Lake Cemetery in Troy, Montana. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the COPD Foundation (www.copdfoundation. org) so that others may be aided with this difficult diagnosis.
