Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 2 hours, 4 minutes AGO
Kenneth L. Blenz passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Kootenai Health on March 30, 2026. Ken was 69 years old.
Ken was born May 25, 1956, in Spokane, Wash. He moved to Deer Park at the age of 12, where he began building the life and values that would carry him through the years. On Dec. 4, 1978, he married the love of his life, Susan Blenz (Morse). Together, they built a life full of love, laughter and lasting memories in Blanchard, Idaho.
Ken drove log trucks and worked for Forrest Enterprises until 1985. That same year, Ken and Sue took over the Blanchard Tavern, creating a place where friends and neighbors gathered to share good food, cold beer and even better conversation. The tavern was a beloved part of the community until they sold the business in 2012.
Above all, Ken cherished family. Ken is survived by his loving wife, Susan; their two children: Kevin (Andi) Blenz of Spirit Lake and Laura Fritz (Blenz) of Wallace; and four amazing grandchildren who he was so darn proud of: Jeremy Blenz, 27, Emily Nichols (Fritz), 24, Zack Fritz, 21 and Penny Fritz, 10. Ken will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be announced. Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with the final arrangements. Please visit Ken’s online memorial and sign his guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
